Every school district has school psychologists. However, few school districts have the tools to successfully evaluate their school psychologists. Instead of having evaluation tools that consider the roles of the school psychologist, administrators use evaluations based on the job of a teacher. And teacher do not do what school psychologists do, resulting in evaluations that are unsatisfactory to both the administrator and the school psychologist.
CASP has developed a tool for administrators to use to chart how well their school psychologists are performing in their jobs. Based on the National Association of School Psychologists’ Standards, this tool allows administrators and school psychologists to determine goals and needed improvements during job evaluations.
