The Dynamics of school-place, workplace and domestic violence have converged into targeted violence. Targeted violence is not an event; it is a process of narrowing of focus upon a target, ramping up of malicious behaviors and leakages of mal-intent. This session will address warning signs of an emerging threat potential in the school-place/workplace with a triad framework of threat posturing, preparatory behaviors and rehearsal fantasies of targeted violence. Additional frameworks will be presented to enhance clarity of behaviors and behavioral trajectories as it pertains to pathway, cadence and ‘dark’ fixation dynamics. An overview of threat management considerations and a framework of mitigate, contain and manage will also be addressed to assist attendees with their targeted violence prevention efforts in their school-place and workplace settings.
